On October 2, UNIC Washington organized flu shots for the UN system. Over thirty staff from UNDP, IFAD, UNEP, UNFPA, ECLAC, and other UN offices in Washington, D.C. stopped by the UN Information Center to participate. But these staff members weren’t just getting a shot they were helping provide shots for others. Thorough the “Get a Shot. Give a Shot” campaign, a partnership between Walgreens and UN Foundation, for every vaccination administered, a donation is made to help fund lifesaving vaccinations, against diseases like pneumonia, diarrhea, measles and polio, for children around the world.  The program works with partners like WHO and UNICEF. Since 2013 the campaign has helped provide more than 20 million lifesaving vaccines globally.  For more information, please visit: https://www.walgreens.com/pharmacy/immunization/shot_at_life.jsp.
