Today is an official holiday. UN headquarters will be closed

 

Tuesday, 4 January 

Today is World Braille Day.

 

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.   This will be followed by a briefing by the Spokesperson for the President of the General Assembly.

 

At 1:00 p.m., there will be a hybrid press briefing by Ambassador Mona Juul, Permanent Representative of Norway to the UN and President of the Security Council in January 2022. She will brief reporters on the Security Council programme of work for the month.

 

At 12:30 p.m., there will be a Flag Installation ceremony for new members of the UN Security Council: Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana and United Arab Emirates.

 

In Geneva, the UN Information Service will hold its bi-weekly briefing for journalists.

 

Wednesday, 5 January

 

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.   This will be followed by a briefing by the Spokesperson for the President of the General Assembly.

 

Thursday, 6 January

 

At 9:30 a.m., there will be a dialogue between civil society representatives and the Security Council president for January 2022, Ambassador Mona Juul of Norway.

 

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.   This will be followed by a briefing by the Spokesperson for the President of the General Assembly.

 

Today, at 3:00 p.m., the UN Human Rights Council will hold a hybrid organizational session to elect its Bureau for 2022 and adopt its programme of work for next year.

 

Friday, 7 January
